Eye Surgery in India Takes Gates Award

An eye surgery network in India that has prevented blindness in millions of people won $1 million from a Gates Award. This is the world's largest prize for international health.

This award for global health is given by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Aravind Eye Care System is based in Tamil Nadu in southern India.
